Platform Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the GymNextDoor platform, operated by GymNextDoor Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales. By accessing or using our platform — whether as a Host or a Renter — you agree to be bound by these Terms.

GymNextDoor is a marketplace platform that connects individuals who wish to rent out their private gym spaces ("Hosts") with individuals seeking to use those spaces for personal fitness sessions ("Renters"). We are not a gym operator, fitness provider, or party to any agreement between a Host and a Renter.

To use GymNextDoor you must be at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into binding contracts under the laws of England and Wales.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must not share your account with any other person. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion, including where we believe a user has violated these Terms, provided false information, or engaged in conduct harmful to other users or the Platform.

GymNextDoor acts solely as an intermediary marketplace. We do not own, operate, inspect, manage, or control any gym space listed on the Platform. We make no representations about the quality, safety, suitability, or legality of any Listing.

The contract for each Session is formed directly between the Host and the Renter. GymNextDoor is not a party to that contract and accepts no liability arising from it, subject to applicable consumer law.

We reserve the right to remove any Listing, cancel any booking, or suspend any account where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached or where we consider it necessary to protect the safety or interests of our users.

All payments are processed securely via Stripe. GymNextDoor does not store card details. By making a booking, you authorise the relevant charge to your payment method.

GymNextDoor retains a Service Fee from each transaction. The applicable Service Fee will be displayed clearly at the time of booking. The Host receives the remainder of the session fee, paid out in accordance with Stripe's standard payout schedule.

All prices displayed on the Platform are in GBP and inclusive of any applicable VAT where required.

Cancellation policies are set by individual Hosts and displayed on each Listing. Renters are responsible for reviewing the cancellation policy before confirming a booking.

In general, cancellations made more than 24 hours before a session start time will be eligible for a full refund of the session fee. Cancellations made within 24 hours may be non-refundable, subject to the Host's policy.

If a Host cancels a confirmed booking, the Renter will receive a full refund. Repeated Host cancellations may result in account suspension.

GymNextDoor reserves the right to issue refunds at its discretion in cases of exceptional circumstances, platform errors, or where consumer law requires.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, GymNextDoor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform or any Session.

Our total aggregate liability to any user in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the total Service Fees paid by or received from that user in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the Platform and accept no liability for any loss arising from downtime, technical errors, or third-party service failures.

All content on the Platform — including design, code, copy, logos, and trademarks — is owned by or licensed to GymNextDoor Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

By uploading photos or content to the Platform, you grant GymNextDoor a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and reproduce that content for the purposes of operating and promoting the Platform.

GymNextDoor processes personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). By using the Platform you consent to such processing.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Users have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of their personal data in accordance with applicable law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

We encourage users to resolve disputes informally in the first instance by contacting us at hello@gymnextdoor.co.uk. We will endeavour to respond within 5 business days.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform following notification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
