GymNextDoor is built on mutual respect between hosts and renters. Every person on our platform has agreed to these standards — and we take them seriously.

How we vet hosts

Every host on GymNextDoor has gone through a manual application process. We don't allow anyone to list their space instantly — we review each application personally before approving.

  • Every host submits a written application describing their space and motivation
  • We review applications manually — no automated approvals
  • Hosts must agree to our Host Agreement before listing
  • Hosts are expected to hold appropriate public liability insurance
  • Listings can be removed at any time if standards are not maintained

How we verify renters

Renters must complete their profile and agree to our Renter Agreement before their first booking. This includes a health declaration and acknowledgement of unsupervised training risks.

  • Email verification required before booking
  • Full name and phone number required on profile
  • Profile photo required before first booking
  • Agreement to Renter Agreement and health declaration
  • Request-to-book model — hosts approve every booking

Conduct rules — everyone

  • Treat every person on the platform with respect — no harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour
  • Provide accurate, honest information at all times
  • Never arrange direct payments outside of GymNextDoor
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents to us promptly
  • Do not share account access with anyone else

For hosts

  • Keep your space clean, safe, and as described in your listing
  • Honour every confirmed booking — repeated cancellations may result in removal
  • Ensure equipment is in safe working order before every session
  • Provide clear, reliable access instructions to confirmed renters
  • Have a first aid kit and emergency contact information visible in the space
  • Do not discriminate against any renter for any reason

For renters

  • Treat every host's space as you would your own home
  • Arrive and leave within your booked time slot
  • Only use equipment you are competent and familiar with
  • Return all equipment to its original position after your session
  • Report any damage or incidents within 24 hours
  • Do not bring guests — access is strictly for the named renter only
  • Do not photograph or film the host's property without explicit consent

Enforcement

Violations of these standards may result in warnings, suspension, or permanent removal from the platform depending on severity. We take every report seriously.
